Treatments

As the field of orthodontics improves and adapts to new technologies, it’s important to stay current with what’s new. Our orthodontists utilize today’s most modern equipment and correction techniques, including:

  • Damon® System of self-ligating braces — Unlike traditional braces, which involve tying archwires in with elastic ties, the Damon System features a “sliding door” that holds a superelastic archwire in place, allowing it to slide freely back and forth. This results in greater patient comfort because there is less pressure on the teeth. Self-ligating braces align your teeth more quickly and with less discomfort than traditional braces. Plus, they require fewer adjustments, which means your number of office visits will be reduced.

  • Cosmetic clear braces — These are the perfect choice for the esthetically conscious patient. Cosmetic clear braces are virtually invisible regardless of your tooth shade.

  • Invisalign® — This is a revolutionary way of straightening teeth without metal wires or brackets. Invisalign works through a series of clear, comfortable aligners that you can remove whenever you eat, drink, brush or floss. Candidates for Invisalign include adults and mature teens. To date, our orthodontists have completed well over 100 Invisalign cases.

  • iBraces™ — These custom-fit braces are placed behind the teeth and are therefore completely hidden from view. iBraces are comfortable and require fewer wire adjustments, which means fewer office visits.

  • In-office lab — Orthodontic Associates affords you the convenience of an in-office lab for prompt fabrication and alteration of habit appliances, expanders and fixed and removable appliances, such as retainers.

  • Temporary anchorage devices (TADs) — These FDA-approved devices are used to assist in the orthodontic movement of teeth. TADs are tiny and comfortable; they are easily placed and removed. Another key benefit of TADs is they can help correct bite problems without the need for extractions or surgery.

  • Orthognathic surgery comanagement — For patients who need surgical correction in conjunction with orthodontic treatment, our orthodontists work closely with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
